Tagging your items…

Now that you have all your items sorted out, now it is the fun part of TAGGING your items. Tagging your items correctly will not only sell your items faster, but will help speed the process of checkout during the sale as well as after the sale when we are preparing your check to be mailed to you. We will walk you through step by step on tagging your items. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@azmomsale.com , we will be happy to help!

What you will (may) need:

  • Inventory Sheet (Sent to you Via Email)
  • 3X5 Card ONLY
  • Safety Pins
  • Wire Hangers (Can be purchased at your local Dry Cleaners for a small fee)
  • Small Plastic Hangers may be used on clothing 24 months and smaller
  • Pen/Marker
  • Packing Tape for larger items (Crib/Toys etc)
  • Zip Lock Bags for loose items
  • Red Pen or Marker (If you don’t want to sell your items 1/2 off during ˝ off Sale
  • Bar Codes (You will need to request these here. You may pick these up at our designated Bar Code Pick Up sites or when you drop off your items during your scheduled Drop Off time. You can also request that these are mailed to you; a $2.00 deduction will be made from your final check for postage/handling.

Now that you have you items sorted, let’s start tagging.

Step 1 –How to hang your items.

Hangers should all be facing the direction of a ?

If you have a set of clothes a Shirt/Pants or Shirt/Skirt etc. Place shirt on hanger, then attach the pants/skirt to the back of the shirt using safety pins. Be sure your safety pins catch the hanger, so your outfit stays securely together.

If you are hanging Pants/Skirts alone, use safety pins to attach to the hanger.  

All bedding should be placed on hangers for better viewing.

Step 2- Using zip-lock bags for loose items.

  • If you have loose items that go along with an outfit (socks, booties, cap) or parts to a toy, crib etc, place them in a baggie and attach them to outfit with a safety pin or packing tape for larger items.
  • Toys, bibs, socks, books, several Onesies, infant shoes or any small items that will be sold together should be place within a Zip Lock type bag.

Step 3 – Making your Handwritten Tags

Please use only 3x5 index cards

You will only be using the majority of the bottom 2/3 of the index card.  You don't have to draw the line as we have pictured, that was just an example to show where to place the information

Barcode on the BOTTOM of card

Heart on the TOP RIGHT CORNER if you are DONATING your unsold item to charity.

Non-Half Price Items

If you DO NOT want your items sold ˝ price off in the ˝ Price off hours, you need to mark your items by using a Red Marker/Pen. Simply circle the price of your item in RED  See example. Draw a Red circle around the barcode AND Price if you DO NOT want your items sold ˝ in the HALF OFF SALE. Please be sure not to mark on the Barcode. Bar Code will not scan properly if it is marked on!

If you would like to donate your item to Charity, consider letting your item go for 1/2 price.

Attach Tags with Safety Pins only. Please no Straight pins.

INVENTORY SHEET

If you are handwriting your tags,  please itemize your Inventory List as you go. The Inventory sheet will be dropped off with your items at Drop Off. Please keep items in order per your Inventory sheet. This will make drop off quicker and easier. You can make a copy for your records prior to drop off. We will not have access to a copy machine. You are welcome to use the Excel Spreadsheet to Inventory and make your tags. Please include all information we have listed on our inventory sheet.

 

Pricing your items....

Pricing items start at $1.00 and increased in .50 increments.  Used items sell at 1/4- 1/3 original retail price. YOU set the price!

Please avoid overpricing your item because it has sentimental value to you. The goal in this sale is to sell as many items you can and not come home with a lot of unsold merchandise. Below is a suggested pricing scale. These are just suggestions, you can price them any price you want. If your items are not worth $1 alone, bundle them with similar items. Ex- Onesies. Put several Onesies of the same size in a zip-lock bag and then price them. Onesies, Bibs, Socks sell faster when they are bundled together in a larger group.

Important TIPS and REMINDERS!

  • Please organize your items in order per your inventory sheet. This will make drop off much faster and easier.
  • Please follow our guidelines to maintain the highest quality of the sale. All items will be inspected upon arrival during your scheduled drop off. Any item that is unacceptable will be returned to the consignor or donated. Mommies On a Mission reserves the right to refuse ANY item.
  • If you make a mistake on the tag, please make a new tag. This helps to avoid confusion during checkout and payment to you after the sale.
  • Taking the extra time to make sure all hanging threads are clipped, clothing is freshly laundered and ironed helps your clothing sell faster.
  • All clothing must appear clean, fresh smelling and completely tagged upon arrival. No tag, No Sale!
  • Clothing that smell of cigarettes will automatically be rejected and returned to consignor
  • All toys that require batteries must have them to ensure the toy is in working order. Batteries will not be returned to you. Batteries can be purchased at any Dollar Store.
  • All items must be clean, in working order and contain all parts. If item(s) have additional pieces, please use a zip lock bag and attach it using packing tape. Masking tape and Scotch tape does not hold well.
  • Hangers will not be returned to you. You can purchase cheap wire hangers from your local dry cleaners. Small plastic hangers can be used for infant clothing under 24 months. These hangers can be purchased at Walmart, Target, Dollar Stores and local thrift stores for under a $1.
  • You do not have to wait until you have your barcodes to get started! You can start tagging your items and affix the barcodes when they arrive. To request Bar Codes, click here!
  • All large items (cribs/furniture) must arrive fully assembled. PLEASE bring your own tools. Mommies On a Mission will not supply tools, hardware or assembly.
  • If you have the original packaging/instructions, please include them!
